Engine and Performance Features

The Santa Cruz has a standard 2.5L Turbocharged GDI powertrain, delivering 311 lb-ft of torque capacity and 281 horsepower. With this setup, you’re able to tow up to 2,267kg. A wet eight-speed dual-clutch transmission optimizes the torque capacity. The steering wheel has paddle shifters, allowing manual shifting control. It delivers a combined fuel efficiency of 10.6 L/100 km, with an estimated consumption of 12.2 L/100 km in the city and 8.7 L/100 km on highways.

The Driver Mode Select can adjust the vehicle’s performance to your taste. There are three options -- Normal, which is the standard setup for everyday driving; Smart, which combines different modes to adjust drivability according to the driver’s input; and Sport, which provides enhanced steering response and throttle for a more powerful and confident drive.

The 2024 lineup comes with Hyundai’s HTRAC All-Wheel Drive system. This system prepares you for challenging road conditions, automatically adjusting traction and other driving features. There are three modes: Sand, which adapts your vehicle to deep gravel or sand conditions, using algorithms to apply the right gear and control torque and traction on each wheel; Snow, which optimizes your driveability under snowy conditions or slippery roads by controlling wheel slippage with a smart distribution of the driving force; and Mud, which activates sensors to detect slippage on each wheel, adjusting torque and traction automatically.  

Driving Assists 

The new Santa Cruz isn’t only powerful - it’s also incredibly safe, and technology plays a vital role. The Hyundai SmartSense suite includes driving assists to improve handling and safety. One special feature is the Blind Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist, which comes standard for everyone. It uses radar to find vehicles in your blind spot and prevents dangerous lane changes, automatically braking the opposite tire. You can keep an eye on your blind spot with an available Blind Spot Monitor, which provides you with a camera view of the area.

Also, the Driver Attention Warning makes sure you keep your eyes on the road, with audio-visual alerts triggered by your driving input. This feature is available for all models. And an Adaptive Cruise Control is available in this suite, with a Stop & Go feature. It allows you to preset the distance from the following vehicle and speed limits. This feature controls speed automatically to keep the preset distance from vehicles ahead.
